Escaping Gormenghast is the story of its author's teenage encounter with the writings of Mervyn Peake, and how the author's relationship to Peake's literary creation has changed down the years.
A One-Way Ministration is a fictional, autobiographical piece on Buddhist meditation and psychological projection.
Ambiguities and Variations in "Song to the Siren" focuses on recordings made by Tim Buckley (1970) and This Mortal Coil (1983), extrapolating from minor differences in their lyrics whole new worlds of interpretative possibilities.
